DATA DELETION
Data Deletion Request
You can request deletion of personal information associated with your Mero account or waitlist entry from within the app, or by emailing us. Deletion is handled as a request that we verify and process; it is not instant.
Your store subscription is separate
Deleting your Mero account does not cancel a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play, and it does not stop that store billing you. You must manage or cancel the subscription separately through the store you bought it from.
Send your request
The fastest route is in the app: open Mero and choose Me > Account > Delete Account. You can also email [email protected] with the subject line "Mero Data Deletion Request." Either way, we treat it as a deletion request that we verify before processing.
What Happens When You Delete
When your deletion request is confirmed, your Mero mobile sessions are revoked immediately. Mero removes every authentication identity linked to the account, whether it came from Apple or Google, attempts provider revocation where the provider supports it, which today means Sign in with Apple, deletes your RevenueCat customer record, and removes your local account data through retryable processing, so a step that fails is retried until it completes rather than being dropped.
Deleting your Mero account does not delete your Apple Account or your Google Account. It removes the link between those accounts and Mero.
What to Include
- The email address associated with your Mero waitlist entry or account
- Your name, if you provided one
- A clear statement that you want your personal information deleted
- Any additional details that help us identify the information you want deleted
What We Delete
If you only joined the waitlist, we will remove your waitlist information and marketing contact record where applicable. For app accounts, deletion covers your account information, profile inputs, weekly plans, meal activity, shopping and prep progress, weight check-ins, product feedback including encrypted comments and contact permission, support requests, and provider credentials associated with your account.
Processing Time
Deletion is a request lifecycle, not an instant action. Sessions are revoked immediately; the remaining provider and local deletion steps run through retryable processing, and pending or retrying deletion work remains until those steps finish. We aim to complete deletion requests within 30 days after we receive enough information to verify the request, and we will let you know when it is complete.
What Remains After Deletion
We keep a minimal deletion audit record for 730 days, then delete it. This audit record is de-identified: it is no longer linked to your account and contains no profile, email, meal, weight, allergy, support, or feedback content.
Deleted records also disappear from Laravel Cloud database backups as the configured backup rotation expires, within its supported 1 to 30 day lifecycle. Subscription and billing history held by Apple or Google Play is managed under that store's own policies, and RevenueCat, Apple, Google, and our email delivery provider may each keep limited transaction or delivery records under their own policies and legal obligations. Remember that deleting your Mero account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Resend, which delivers our feedback and support notification emails, may retain limited delivery records in line with its own provider obligations and retention practices.
